Volunteer for the 2020 Virtual Whidbey Island Marathon

Pre-Race Expo Volunteer (Saturday 4/18) - Oak Harbor High School

Volunteers are needed on Saturday 4/18 (day before race) to greet runners coming early to pick up their race day essentials (bib, timing chip, race shirt, etc.) and learn more about their upcoming race. Packet Pickup is located at Oak Harbor High School. We will be offering two volunteer shifts, 11:30am - 3:30pm and 3:00pm - 7:00pm. (Volunteers can sign up for multiple shifts). People working multiple shifts will be provided with lunch and an event shirt

Full Marathon Start Line Volunteers (Pass Lake Boat Launch @ Rosario Rd)

Time: 5:45am - 7:15am

Location: Pass Lake Boat Launch - Rosario Rd & Hwy 20

Race Day Start/Finish Line Volunteers (Flinstone Park)

Date: Sunday, April 19, 2020

Time: 7:00am - 2:00pm (Multiple Shift Options)

Location: Windjammer Park, Downtown Oak Harbor

Event finish line volunteers will help assist race participants in multiple ways:

Pre-Race (7:00am - 9:30am, start of the 1/2 Marathon, 10K, 5K)

Finish Line Celebration (9:30am - 2pm) - After the race events have started, as a finish line Volunteer you will help prepare post race foods for finishers, pass out water and hydration to finishers and award medals to all race finishers. (Multiple Shift Options available on next page)

Race Day - Course Monitors (Locations Vary)

Course Monitors are needed to assist runners as they run their Whidbey Island Marathon adventure! Course monitors are stationed on course to direct runners the proper direction, make sure runners are safe and continue to cheer on runners!

These shifts range from 45 minutes to 3 hours depending on the location. We are happy to work with you on a location that's easy for you to arrive at, help at and enjoy the race!
