The Seafair Triathlon is going Virtual!

 

Continuing with the theme of 2020 – this year’s Seafair Triathlon will be a “Virtual Event.”

 

With the State of Washington’s extension of the stay at home order and phasing back into normalcy – we, unfortunately, will not have the opportunity to produce the Seafair Triathlon live at Seward Park in July and will not be issued a city permit.

 

However, we are still excited to swim, bike, and run with you – just from a bit of a distance. Here’s what you need to know:

 

First and foremost – SWAG, and we’ve added some bonus items -

  

All registered adult participants, regardless of event or distance, will be mailed:

• 2020 Branded Seafair Tri Shirt

• Branded Beach Towel (perfect for your transition area or... the beach!)

• Branded Water Bottle
• Custom Participant Bib

• Finisher's Medal (Blue Angel flies across the medal)

How to “Race” a Triathlon Virtually

In a nutshell – you will complete your race distance on your own anytime, any place! Once completed, you will submit your different leg times to the official page on our website. After registering for the event, keep an eye out for your swag, it will hit your mailbox before you know it! Swag mails once you've registered, after completion, show off that medal with pride, you've earned it! 

Swim Leg Options:

We know not everyone has access to a safe open water swimming location. For this year, we will be allowing participants to complete the swim leg several ways including paddle boarding, kayaking, core workouts, yoga and other cross-training exercises. If you have access to water and want to safely swim your race distance (half or quarter mile) do it! But for those who don’t – we have options.

Bike and Run legs will remain normal proper race-day distance.

RACE REGISTRATION DEADLINE - Because you're racing on your own anytime anyplace, the 2020 Seafair Virtual Triathlon will stay open until we run out of swag.
